How to plant seeds, and what kind of flowers are they
We put in the packets a mixture of seeds of colorful, fragrant wildflowers and garden flowers. It's full of nectar flowers, that bees and butterflies and other pollinating insects particularly like.
Today, bees need the help of people, since with the spread of agricultural monocultures, they have access to less and less pollen.
When compiling the seed mix, the main consideration was that the flowers provide food for bees and other beneficial insects for as many months as possible.
The contents of the mix: Phacelia, purple clover, Alexandrian clover, buckwheat, mustard, sunflower, cornflower, dill, decorative poppies. In addition to those listed, the packages may contain veil flowers, butterfly flowers, morning glory, poppies, and other wild flowers.
The largest proportion is Phacelia, which, as the name suggests, is extremely rich in nectar. It is also used as a bee pasture, together with buckwheat, purple testes and mustard.
The seeds are mixed and packed by hand. We cannot guarantee that the composition of each package is exactly the same.
The selection includes annual flowers. The flowers can bear seeds, which, when they die, can germinate on their own the following year.
The contents of the package are enough for an area of about one square meter. The ideal planting time is from March to September. If you can, plant it in open ground, in a sunny place, in worked (e.g. raked) soil. After scattering the seeds on the ground, cover them with a little soil or rake them into the soil. Keep the soil moist until germination and water regularly afterwards. You don't have to overdo it.
If you don't have the opportunity to plant in open ground, you can also plant the seeds in a balcony box or pots. The procedure is the same, cover it with a little soil and keep it moist.
In a few weeks, enjoy the colorful, fragrant flowers, the buzzing bees, and the beautiful butterflies.
